We have a peacock and a Visayan spotted deer....and one last surprise. Wow! That's a peacock. Look at those feathers–how is he able to carry them? Look at the peacock shake its wings and spread out its tail feathers; he usually does that to attract mates and for courtship. Wow, did you see those vibrations? The peacock is a very proud and beautiful bird. You can see how colorful the feathers are; beautiful! This is the Visayan spotted deer. It is a beautiful species of deer. They are nocturnal animals and are endangered. Nocturnal means that they are very active at night. You can see them feeding peacefully in the bush. They prefer to live in forests. Both the males and females are spotted, unlike other deer that are only spotted when young. Their diet includes a variety of grasses, buds, and leaves. The calves are born after a gestation period of 240 days. The interesting aspect is that the calves get matured after 12 months. What we're looking at now is a herd of Visayan deer resting in the forest. They're getting up, I wonder where they're running off to. Look at these two bulls locking horns. We can see others resting by the water, minding their own business. These males usually lock horns when fighting for territory and mates. Right now they are probably fighting for whom to jump in the water first. Oh, looks like that other bull won. That was fun, wasn't it? The peacock was beautiful, and the deer were quiet and those bulls seemed rugged.
