Hello kids. Today we're going to do something different: we'll watch an elephant have fun with his meal. Hey kids! Check out our friend here, he looks like he's doing some stretches. Oh, wait, maybe that's a dance routine: one leg forward, move back...one leg forward, move back. Alright, so he's stretching out his trunk now towards that log. I think he wants to reach it, but why can't he? Oh, there's a rope tied around his leg. He seems to be playing with those logs. Look at him twist it around with his trunk and then put it in his mouth. He's feeding on the jaggery palm and it looks like he's enjoying it. Kids, always remember that elephants are able to lift really big materials. Look at that now. He just lifted the palm log and tore off some bark into smaller chewable bits. Just see the way he uses his trunk as a hand; that's interesting. Do you see the way he flaps his ears? This means that he is excited and happy. Elephants also flap their ears to cool down in hot weathers. More palm barks and branches for our friend here. These barks, all peeled that way are different types of palms. You can see from the leaves. Our friend here is enjoying solitary fishtail palm, wine palm, toddy palm and Jaggery palm. I'll say he finds them yummy, just watch his ears flap. He's swinging the branch about and flapping his ears. You know what that means, kids? It means our Friend here is having a fun time with his meal. Time to go now. I hope it made you smile watching this elephant today.
